Description

The SupraHD® 695 DVB reference design is a complete hardware and software solution for building the Smart TV generation of internet connected 1080P flat-panel digital televisions targeted for the European market. The reference TV application software complies with the DVB broadcast standards.

The reference design is a full-featured 1080P FPD TV system that allows tuning, decoding, and displaying of digital terrestrial, cable and sattelite (DVB-T/C/S, DVB-T2/C2/S2), analog (PAL) broadcasts and internet related applications.

At the heart of the reference hardware board is the SupraHD® 695 DTV System IC. This chip includes over 1.5GHz of CPU processing power and a 3D graphics processor to meet the high performance demands of applications for dozens of internet content service providers (CSPs), including Google Android-based and Adobe Flash 10.x-based applications. The chip incorporates Zoran’s latest video and audio decode engines, capable of handling all audio and video broadcast, internet and multimedia file formats, including H.264 1080p60 single-stream decode, MVC H.264 1080p30 dual-stream decode, as well as Skype SILK and Audio Echo Cancellation (AEC). All video formats are processed by Zoran’s latest picture quality (PQ) enhancement HDXtreme® 2 video processor which includes three-dimensional upscaling of standard-definition content, commonly found on the internet, to high-definition. The chip includes all of the necessary video and audio interfaces for the European market to minimize the system BOM cost.

The reference hardware module accepts traditional video equipment interfaces, such as composite (CVBS), S-video (Y/C), component (YPbPr), SCART (CVBS, RGB), as well as more advanced interfaces, such as HDMI from Blu-Ray or DVD players. The reference hardware module can drive an LCD panel, output L/R audio to its internal speakers, and deliver S/PDIF multi-channel output to an external audio receiver.
